Cybersecurity is an increasingly important topic in the automotive industry. In 2018, FCA was the first manufacturer to implement in its vehicles a protection system against cyber-attacks called SGW (Security Gateway).
The SGW is a protection module, similar to a firewall, capable of intercepting and filtering the communications between the control units and an external electronic system. The SGW only allows the reading of the ECU’s data and prevents any other operation (calibrations, adjustments, etc..).
As of 5/1/2023 Texa FCA can only be purchased through AutoAuthority. All FCA requests will need to be handled through AutoAuthority which will then allow you to use FCA access with TEXA. If you currently have an FCA subscription, it will remain good until it's time to renew.
